The transition from Jiu-Jitsu to MMA is often challenging. Fortunately, we have a couple of masters who have done just that. Rob Homan, our head coach, began his journey into ass-kickery at the tender age of 5. He reached brown belt in Kenpo before dabbling in Aikido amongst other things. He moved to MMA, winning multiple times at a professional level, before finally falling in love with the grappling arts. He is currently a Black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and competes regularly, winning at National levels.

Our BJJ classes promote the idea that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique, taking the fight to the ground – most notably by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the opponent.
